This flying eagle motif is recreated from a design on women's vintage hair bands from the town of San Juan Sacatepequez. The design is woven in Czech glass beads by Mayan women near Lake Atitlán. The chevron pattern on the opposite side derives from Mayan women's huipils in Comalapa.
